At West Bottoms Whiskey, every bottle reflects craftsmanship, heritage, and bold flavor. Our award-winning whiskeys are a humdinger of tradition and modern artistry, delivering rich, complex profiles that honor time-tested techniques with a touch of ingenuity.

We set out to create beautiful sipping whiskeys that tell a story. Starting with our custom Kansas City Whiskey blend, we proved our skill as blenders, offering a unique approach to whiskey. While bourbon and rye are familiar, blends elevate the experience, presenting a bouquet of flavors that unfold like a great tale—each sip with a beginning, middle, and end. It’s this balance and sippability that define us.

  • The history of American whiskey began taking shape when Scottish settlers brought their malt whiskey techniques and illicit stills to a fledgling America, where Rye whiskey was making its name as the nations first homegrown spirit. The coming together of Old World tradition and New World agriculture helped lay the foundation for a whiskey revolution.

American Single Malt Whiskey

  • Our premium offering and one of the first peated whiskeys in the midwest. 100% distilled and aged by West Bottoms Whiskey Co. on our 211 gallon copper alembic pot still. 50% malted barley/ 50% peated malt. Aged 1 year in 5 gallon barrels. Limited runs being released. and available in our Parlor. Each bottle has been hand wax dipped and crested with our seal.

  • Smooth beyond its proof, this whiskey opens with delicate notes of honey and ripe pear, balanced by a whisper of mild smoke. Hints of honeysuckle emerge on the palate, leading to a medium, satisfying finish.

American Blended Malt Whiskey

  • This truly unique blend is a a very special combination of of our peated Distiller’s Cut: American Single Malt Whiskey and a 4 year old selected single malt whiskey. This complex whiskey will continue to surprise as you sip. This blended malt whiskey is the perfect intro to those exploring scotches with light smoke and intricate flavors.

  • True to our philosophy of blending for superior sipping whiskeys; this very special blend incorporates our peated single malt aged in the West Bottoms. This introduces beautiful barrel oils and a perfect use of ingredients for a style of whiskey on the rise.

James Gang Rye Whiskey- An Historic Collaboration

From Liberty, Missouri to Northfield, Minnesota, they robbed banks and trains with a boldness that turned headlines into legend. But they weren’t just outlaws—they were outcasts forged in fire, loyal to their own and feared by the rest. James Gang Rye channels the dust and defiance of a bygone age. Bottled at over 100 proof, it opens with smooth sweetness before finishing with a slow-burning heat that settles deep. Inspired by outlaws, it’s whiskey with history in its bones and rebellion in its finish.

  • We reached out to Runamok Maple Syrup producer in Vermont to discover freshly dumped whiskey barrels with sweet maple embedded into staves ready for the right Rye Whiskey to rest. With a 95% rye grain. bill this perfect Fall sipper is best described as “Breakfast in a Glass” Each of these ONLY 1200 bottle comes with its own barrel stave ornament taken from the original casks two years ago.
